Common name: Pink Rosemary
A native of the Mediterranean Rosemary is a tough plant for hot and dry regions of the country. Rosemary will handle cooler and wetter areas as long as the soil is free draining. Rosemary has long been used in cooking, and medicine. It is sometimes referred to as the herb of remembrance. The leaves pair particularly well with breads, Olives, garlic, potatoes, and lamb.
Rosemary is hard to beat for the bees. The flowers are a great source of nectar, and are perfectly shaped for easy access. Rosemary are also a favourite for the NZ blue butterfly.
The gorgeous rose pink flowers of Rosemary ‘Roseus’ is unusual for rosemary. Still all the benefits of strong bushy growth, scent and bees. Leaves are finer than ‘Tuscan blue’.
