Common name: White Rosemary
A native of the Mediterranean Rosemary is a tough plant for hot and dry regions of the country. Rosemary will handle cooler and wetter areas as long as the soil is free draining. Rosemary has long been used in cooking, and medicine. It is sometimes referred to as the herb of remembrance. The leaves pair particularly well with breads, Olives, garlic, potatoes, and lamb.
Rosemary is hard to beat for the bees. The flowers are a great source of nectar, and are perfectly shaped for easy access. Rosemary are also a favourite for the NZ blue butterfly.
R. Albiflorus is covered with gorgeous white flowers, sometimes with the palest hint of lilac- very elegant. strong upright growth and finer leaves than the Rosemary ‘Tuscan Blue’.
