Description
Common Names: White Gaura, Whirling Butterflies, Lindheimer’s clockweed
A herbaceous perennial native to Louisiana and Texas. White Gaura will grow up to 150 cm and flower freely from spring through to Autumn. The white four petaled flowers densely cluster the flower stems and look very like small white butterflies – hence its common name. Gaura is a tough plant in full sun, and will handle drought conditions. A great plant for mixing among other tall perennials and grasses in a naturalistic garden. Plants can be left all winter and cut back late winter or early spring.
