Common name: Yarrow, allheal, bloodwort

The genus Achillea are named for Homer’s mythological Greek character Achilles. It is said that Achilles soldiers used the leaves of Achillea to heal their wounds. Achillea have been used medicinally for centuries. They have also been used in bio-dynamic preparations. The flowers of all Achillea species are also a rich source of nectar for a range of beneficial insects. Achillea come in a range of colours from whites, pinks, reds, yellows, and orange. They are very hardy plants in full sun with good drainage.
