Description

Common names: white sagebrush, silver wormwood, western mugwort, Louisiana wormwood, lobed cud-weed, prairie sage, gray sagewort.

Native to the Western United States and Mexico where it inhabits dry slopes, canyons, open pine woods, and dry prairies. It is a rhizomatous perennial with erect stems to 60 cm. The silvery leaves and stems are covered in woolly gray or white hairs. A tough aromatic and hardy plant for dry well drained soil in full sun or light shade. The silvery foliage is very decorative and can be used for floral work.
