Common name: Lesser calamint
Calamintha nepeta is a bushy perennial herb of the mint family. They are native to Europe and the Mediterranean. The grey-green leaves are very fragrant when crushed. Plants generally prefer free draining soil in full sun, though they will tolerate light shade. Plants prefer even moisture but will handle some dry. Plants are cold hardy.
C. nepeta “Blue Cloud” will grow to 40 cm in flower. Plants will flower from summer into autumn with clouds of dainty blue flowers on short sprays. The flowers are very attractive to bees and butterflies.
