Description

Common name: Caucasian germander, Iranian germander, Plum wood sage

T. hircanicum ‘purple tails’ is a clump forming perennial with tightly packed flower spike of reddish purple flowers. Plants are very dry tolerant in sun or part shade. Flowers are borne throughout the summer months, and are useful as cut flowers. The soft sage green leaves are aromatic and have insect repelling properties that make them useful in potpourri and sachets for drawers and cupboards. A very hardy plant which as one of it’s common names suggest will grow in dry shade, as well as full sun as long as it has good drainage
