Common name: Tree Germander
Teucrium are a genus of about 300 herbs and shrubs mainly from the Mediterranean region, though there are about 13 species endemic to Australia. Those species commonly grown as garden plants are known for hardiness and drought tolerance.
Teucrium fruiticans is a drought tolerant evergreen shrub, with beautiful silvery grey leaves and almost white stems. Easily clipped as a tight hedge. Given space it can easily cover a 3 x 3 meter area, where it’s gorgeous pale lilac flowers will be seen at their best. Great for bees.
