Description

Common name: Stonecrop

Sedum ‘Limelight’ is a name we gave to this plant. Propagated over the years from plants that were already in the garden. We have been unable to identify it with any certainty. The closest we have been able to find is Sedum spectabile ‘Stardust’. Like all the Sedums it thrives on dry free draining and poor soils.

S. ‘Limelight’ appears to be less upright in growth habits than either S. ‘Autumn Joy’ or S. ‘Brilliant’. On the other hand it covers the ground quite vigorously with large fleshy leaves all year. Flower stems have a red tint and the flowers open a creamy lime colour gradually turning whitish then with hints of pink as it fades. Plants prefer sun, though the foliage does very well in dry shade too.
