Description
Common name: Jacob’s ladder
Polemonium are from the damp mountain meadows and woods of the Northern hemisphere. In gardens they require cool moist loamy soils that do not dry out in summer. Plants produce beautiful ferny ladder like foliage. Most produce flowers in varying shades of blues, lavenders and purples, though there are white flowered forms.
P. yezoense ‘purple rain’ has darker purple, green foliage and clusters of lilac blue star shaped flowers.
